Pre-Season Prep

Stretch Stretch Stretch !!!

Stretching is an important part of any athletes training.  An ice hockey goalie can find themselves in many awkward positions making that great save, so stretching is vital to a goalies success.  Daily stretching both off-season and in-season, will lead to less injuries and more effective coverage of the 24sq feet of net !

Do An Equipment Check

  • Verify proper fit of all protective gear
    • Inspect all straps and tighten screws
  • Verify skates fit properly
    • Goalie skates highly encouraged at the PeeWee Level and up
    • Put new skate laces on !
    • Buy a new mouthguard, it's a new season!

 

 

Go Find Some Ice!

  • Go Public Skating (great for goalies transitioning to goalie skates!)
  • Sign-up for pick-up hockey sessions
  • Go to Stick & Puck sessions
  • Sign-up for any pre-season warm-ups being offerred

Any cardio vascular activity you can participate in will help to get you in shape for the upcoming season.  Activities such as: Biking ,Jogging ,Hiking or Soccer
